From Dr. Paula Smith

Dr. Paula Smith Brian was a mentor to me and many other junior people entering the field of prevention research. Brian hired me to work on the evaluation team of the Aban Aya project in 1995 and then as a post-doc in 1999. I learned a great deal from him and I always appreciated that he didn’t mind being teased about the grand scope of the TTI meta-theory. He continued to mentor me during the early part of my career at the University of Utah. We had meetings at Snowbird, courtesy of Gil Botvin, and quite a few airport meetings when he was on his way through Salt Lake City to get back to his love, Carol. I am happy that he was able to share his passions and love with someone so giving and caring. Thanks for taking care of my mentor, Carol. I will miss you, Brian!
